Day 131. This sceptred isle.

This blessed plot, this earth, this realm, this England.

Where late Spring/early Summer is defined by high winds, brooding skies and cool temperatures.

Gone is the lead flashing from Bea's clubhouse but the apple tree is filled with blossom and the field behind is all set to bloom into a field of gold.

This is England.

Day 64. Sun and snow.

A beautiful drive across the Pennines tonight after two full on work days in the North West. Traces of snow and brilliant sunshine; what a glorious combination. I can see Spring from here.

Day 33. Welcome drops of snow.

Today I saw my first snowdrops of 2013, a reassuring reminder that Spring will soon be on its way. Carpets of white are already beginning to appear on the verges in the village and on the 10th February the annual snowdrop walk takes place at Ryston Hall.

Such tiny flowers; so exquisite and beautiful.
